Curv Lab is run by Josh, a designer who builds the things he designs — and shows the whole path: sketching, CAD, printing, breaking parts, and fixing them.
the process is the product
Every Curv Lab project starts on paper. Sketches become CAD, CAD becomes printed prototypes, prototypes get driven hard until something breaks — and then the design gets better. The videos document that whole arc, failures included. The files you can download are simply the result of that loop run enough times.
The WR1 chassis is the clearest example: version 2 exists because over a thousand people printed and built version 1, then told us exactly what to improve. Crowdsourced testing at a scale no lab could match.
documentation held to the same standard as the parts
Build guides, bills of materials, and print settings aren't an afterthought — they're signature artifacts. Exploded-view renders with a consistent color code, exact part names, exact fastener specs. If it would look wrong in an engineering drawing package, it doesn't ship.

RC cars are a spectacular way to prove out design and engineering ideas — geometry, tolerances, materials, mechanisms. But the frame is bigger: cool, well-engineered projects, whatever the domain. If you're into how things get designed and made, you're in the right place.
